About Me

Hello, I’m Dipanwita, an artist originally from India, now creating in the heart of Geneva. My work embodies the rich traditions of Indian folk art, transformed through my personal experiences and modern influences. Each piece I create is a journey into my culture, a reflection of my inner peace, and a testament to the intricate beauty of nature.

My artistic path began in India, where I first learned the delicate and vibrant techniques of Indian folk art. However, the demands of studying and working in Human Resources for five years made me put my passion on hold. My move to Geneva three years ago marked a significant turning point. As I navigated the challenges of a new country—learning French, seeking employment, and volunteering at a non-profit organization—I found myself turning back to art as a source of solace and self-expression.

The pandemic offered me the unexpected gift of time, allowing me to immerse myself once again in the world of painting. Art became my refuge, a way to cope with the isolation and uncertainty. Through my work, I explore themes of tranquility, focus, and cultural heritage, aiming to create pieces that resonate with viewers on an emotional level.

In my art, there is no chaos or depression—only clean lines, intricate details, and a meditative quality that invites viewers to pause and reflect. My pieces often feature elements of nature, interwoven with traditional motifs, creating a harmonious blend that speaks to both the past and the present.
